Located At: BARC Animal Shelter & Adoptions Description: My name is Zinnia. I am a female, black and brown American Bulldog mix. Age: The shelter staff think I am about 3 years old. More Info: I have been at the shelter since Sep 28, 2026. I am in kennel SOUTHB25. ID #A2098210 3-year-old female American Bulldog mix | Black/Brown Weight: 45.5 lbs Intake date: 9/28/26 Zinnia came to BARC after her owner's grandson was arrested and left multiple dogs in the yard. A senior family member reported being unable to care for them. Both Rocket (ID #2098209) and Taro (ID #2098211) are still at BARC but not on the EU list. They are both 9 months old and likely Zinnia's puppies. ⸻ 🩺 MEDICAL NOTES: Zinnia was noted to be an intact female and was medically normal at intake. She received routine vaccinations, deworming and preventative treatment. Zinnia is HEARTWORM NEGATIVE. ⸻ 🐾 BEHAVIOR NOTES: Zinnia sometimes shows worried body language when initially being leashed. But once outside, staff have repeatedly seen a different Zinnia. She has walked to and from the runs without issue, displaying a soft face, loose or wiggly body and wagging tail. On 10/4, she initially vocalized when someone looked into her kennel, but when staff opened the door and spoke gently to her, she responded with a wiggly body and fast-wagging tail.
