Located At: BARC Animal Shelter & Adoptions Description: My name is Zara. I am a female, gray and white Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix. Age: The shelter staff think I am about 9 months old. More Info: I have been at the shelter since Sep 28, 2026. I am in kennel SOUTHB21. ID #A2098319 Staffordshire Mix | Gray/White Female | 9 months old DOB: 1/28/2026 Weight: 34 lbs Intake date: 9/28/26 💔 Zara came into BARC with her 9-month-old siblings Zed (ID #A2098320) and Zac (ID #A2098321), as well as another dog, Dina (ID #A2098317), who could possibly be their mom. None of them are on the euthanasia list for 10/5 ' only Zara. ⸻ 🩺 Medical notes: Zara arrived with thinning hair/hair loss on her lower body and a flea infestation. The veterinarian assessed dermatitis, possibly due to flea allergy. She was treated with Advantage Multi at intake. Her heartworm test was negative, and she received routine vaccines and deworming. ⸻ 🐾Behavior notes: Zara is a frightened young puppy who appears overwhelmed by the shelter environment. In her kennel she has cowered, flinched, pancaked or frozen when staff attempted to leash her, sometimes needing to be carried. But there is another side to Zara: when she was moved to the adoption area, she was playing with her siblings in the runs, walked on a loose leash and was friendly with staff. Her behavior shows a scared puppy who may simply need patience, security and time outside the stressful kennel environment.
