Located At: BARC Animal Shelter & Adoptions Description: My name is Big T. I am a male, tan and white Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix. Age: The shelter staff think I am about 9 months old. More Info: I have been at the shelter since Sep 25, 2026. I am in kennel SOUTHB07. ID #A2097886 Staffordshire Mix | Tan/White Male | 9 months old DOB: 1/26/2026 Weight: 30.0 lbs Intake date: 9/25/26 Status: Rescue only Big T came into BARC with Nila (ID #A2097882), who could possibly be his mom. They were reportedly left behind after their tenants moved away. ⸻ 🩺 Medical notes: Big T has significant problems affecting both rear legs/knees. Staff noted that he was hunched in his rear end, with his hind legs angled inward and thickened knees. X-rays showed remodeling changes in both knees, with possible bilateral cranial cruciate injuries or another orthopedic condition. He needs a radiologist review and orthopedic consultation. He was prescribed Rimadyl/Carprofen 25 mg twice daily for 14 days and is heartworm NEGATIVE. ⸻ 🐾Behavior notes: Big T is a very shy, frightened puppy who struggles with leash walking. He has shown whale eyes, a tucked or low tail and a tense body, and sometimes pulls or thrashes when restrained on leash. But there are glimpses of the puppy underneath that fear: Big T has shown soft eyes, a wiggly body and a wagging tail, eagerly takes treats, allows petting and has even rolled over to show his belly and accept belly rubs. Once placed in an outside run, he ran around and relieved himself.
