A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.' He was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen and was seeking affection. He entered the play yard with soft body language. He was approached by two dogs and exchanged soft greetings with them both. After the dogs broke away, he began to playfully bound around the yard and continued to exchange soft greetings with other dogs. He offered a play bow to a male shepherd, and they engaged in gentle/dainty play. After their play, he began to roam the yard and explore. He was tolerant of dogs trailing him to sniff him. He remained playful and social for the rest of his time in the yard. He would approach the handlers and seek affection. Almond is social with the other dogs and prefers a gentle/dainty play style.
