Silas is an adoptable male Belgian Shepherd Malinois looking for a home at Riverside County Animal Services-Riverside in Jurupa Valley, California. He is a young adult and large in size. He is currently on the shelter's euthanasia list with only 5 days left, listed due to behavior. Adopting Silas, or even sharing his story, could save a life before it's too late.

STAFF OBSERVATIONS 09/10/26 Dog appears fearful in kennel but warms up and solicits attention from handler. Appears to be doing well with kennel mate at this time. 09/17/26 Dog participated in playgroup today. Dog was observed giving appropriate greetings as well as tolerating greetings from other dogs and was playful for the duration of the playgroup. 09/17/26 16:51 Upon approach dog was observed in back of kennel. Handler had to enter kennel to leash because dog was avoiding handler. Dog walked on leash while remaining close/trying to stay in between handler's legs and didn't react to other dogs while entering and exiting kennel. In play yard dog was observed running around and mildly exit seeking. Dog did not solicit attention, but allowed handlers to make contact. Dog showed no interest in toys. Did not protest being leashed to go back to kennel. Currently has one kennelmate. 09/22/26 Dog participated in small playgroup with kennel mate.
