About Zoidberg

Zoidberg is an adoptable female American Staffordshire Terrier looking for a home at Philadelphia Animal Care and Control in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is fully grown and medium in size. She is currently on the shelter's euthanasia list and today is the last day, listed due to behavior. Adopting Zoidberg, or even sharing her story, could save a life before it's too late.

Zoidberg ACCT-A-262273 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to behavioral concerns. Zoidberg must have confirmed placement with a RESCUE PARTNER by FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9TH at 10AM. Should Zoidberg's medical or behavioral status change, her urgency and timeline for placement may also change. Zoidberg came to ACCT Philly as a stray on September 20th after being found tied to a fence. She was scared and defensive when staff first approached her, but has become much more relaxed as she has settled in. She comes to the front of her kennel with soft eyes and a loose body, takes treats gently, and loves getting pets, though she can be selective with people and has shown a more tense response around men. With patience and reassurance, she has been able to settle and return to a relaxed state. Zoidberg is medium energy, a little bouncy when excited, and loves to run and play in the yard. She has also consistently done well with other dogs, showing good greetings, play bows, appropriate corrections, and the ability to disengage on her own. Because of her selectivity with people, Zoidberg is urgently seeking placement with a rescue partner who can take the time to get to know her, assess her outside of the shelter environment, and help her continue building confidence.
