To adopt or foster, please complete the pre-screener form below. Inquiries sent directly to ACC will not receive a response. Pre-Screener Form Alexa is at risk due to her behavioral concerns. Alexa has demonstrated fear-based defensive behavior toward unfamiliar people, including stiffening, vocalizing, and snapping, making contact but didn't break skin when a person approached to pet her. She has also been reported to redirect toward handler leg when reacting to dogs and may thrash/vocalize when restrained. Additionally, include snapping when being picked up and a tendency to flee. Alexa is noted to allow light petting with familiar handlers. Medically Alexa has Otitis Externa and is overweight. She can usually be found in the living room. Alexa does not allow for bathing, brushing, or nail trimming. She is used to going on walks once or twice per day and pulls hard on the leash. She knows sit, stay, and up. Alexa loves belly rubs! In the care center, she has displayed signs of kennel stress, including biting at the kennel bars. She has also been noted to snap when being picked up and is noted to have redirect onto a handler's leg when reacting to neighboring dogs, did not break skin. Additionally, she is noted to thrash in response to any form of leash pressure. Due to her behavior, Alexa is available for placement through one of our New Hope partners.
