Dante A5802233 (Altered) was at the front of the kennel with a neutral demeanor when the runner arrived. He approached and curiously sniffed the leash through the barrier. Leashing Dante took multiple attempts as he continuously moved his head away from it. Once leashed, Dante exited the kennel on his own and made his way to the yard, where he was allowed to decompress prior to the assessment. He initially moved away from the handler, appearing uncomfortable with his presence. However, with some coaxing and firm leash control, he remained still while tolerating handling of his ears, mouth, abdomen, tail, and legs. Dante displayed a neutral posture during the process, showing no pro-social behavior throughout the assessment. Once the session concluded, he was returned to his kennel without incident. Dante showed no concerning behavior; however, slow introductions are highly advised to help him become comfortable around people.
