EVALUATION DATE: 2026-10-08 DOG SOCIAL SKILLS: CALM DOGS (REQ) i SMALL DOG SOCIAL \"OVERALL SCORE\": NEEDS ASSESSMENT i ENERGY LEVEL: LOW i TRAINING RECOMMENDATION: CONFIDENCE BUILDING i EVALUATION COMMENTS: The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out'or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences. She was timid with a light body tremble while tolerating the collar being clasped around her neck. She does not walk on leash and was carried into the play yard easily. She sat down at the gate and began trembling. She is under socialized and leaned away as a pair of calm dogs came up to greet her. She leaned away with wide eyes as they sniffed her. As soon as she got an opening, she scooted away from them, walked over to a corner, and sat down. She tolerated several calm dogs coming up to greet her, allowing them to sniff her body as she turned her head away. She was initially wary of the handlers coming up to her but with some light coaxing, stretched her neck to sniff and lick their hands. She relaxed as the handlers rubbed her head and body. She was not comfortable with energetic dogs approaching her. She would growl, expose her teeth and snap at them as she lacks confidence and socialization. She remained in the corner, tolerating calm dogs and seeking affection from the handlers for the rest of her time in the yard. She needs confidence building and leash training. BEHAVIORALLY OK FOR PUBLIC ADOPTION, CALM DOGS (REQ), LOW ENERGY
