A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.' He was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen. He entered the play yard with soft body language. He was approached by two dogs and tolerated them both sniffing him, but he was timid. After the dogs broke away, he began to roam the yard and explore. He was tolerant of dogs trailing him to sniff him. After a short time, he relaxed and grew in confidence. He began to approach the other dogs and exchange soft greetings with them. He offered a play bow to a male shepherd, and they engaged in gentle/dainty play. He remained confident, playful and social for the rest of his time in the yard. He would approach the handlers and seek affection. He also climbed into the pool a few times and enjoyed time playing in there. Kenzo is social with the other dogs and prefers a gentle/dainty play style.
