These tiny puppies need continued veterinary monitoring, especially little Luke, who weighs only 1.5 pounds. ⸻ Behavior Notes: Leia is a protective, somewhat timid mama who was found sheltering with her puppies beneath a house. At BARC, she has been observed lying with her babies and showing signs of nervousness, including whale eyes. However, staff were able to leash her using gentle encouragement, and she got up and walked. Leia has also allowed petting and handling of her puppies.
