To adopt or foster, please complete the pre-screener form below. Inquiries sent directly to ACC will not receive a response. Pre-Screener Form Moo Moo is at risk due to behavioral concerns. Moo Moo intially was highly fearful and defensive when she first entered care. She had previously escalated to hard barking and snapping on intake and was tense-bodied at the back of her kennel and tucked her tail when taken out for walks. As her stay progressed, Moo Moo has been social and attention-seeking with staff and handlers that she is familiar with. During a walk, Moo Moo slipped out of a handler's lead and bit them on the hand when trying to secure her, leaving punctures. She has since been growling at handlers while off-leash in the play yard and then snapped at the handler, requiring Moo Moo to be passed to a second handler for her to be returned to her kennel safely. Medically, Moo Moo is apparently healthy. Moo Moo was surrendered to the care center as a stray and we have no history on her behavior in a home environment. During her time at the care center, Moo Moo has shown fearful and defensive behavior, including growling and snapping at staff during handling, and biting a handler on the hand while being restrained by the collar, a bite and release that broke skin. Due to these concerns, we recommend placement with an experienced New Hope partner who can provide any necessary behavior modification (force-free, positive reinforcement-based) and re-evaluate behavior in a stable, adult-only home environment before placement into a permanent home.
