Additional Info : Randy is a sweet, smaller medium sized boy who is still a little unsure and needs some time to feel comfortable with what is happening around him. He was quiet in his kennel and came out on leash without difficulty, walking with generally relaxed body language. When his handler attempted more direct interaction, Randy became slightly stiff, showing that he was not completely comfortable yet. When another volunteer passed nearby with a quiet dog, Randy became noticeably nervous and tried to create distance by pulling away rather than attempting to interact. Once the other dog had moved out of the area, Randy readily came back over to his handler and continued spending time with her. He did not appear to know the command sit, but he took treats very gently. Randy has shown that he can be hesitant with handling and unfamiliar situations, but he also continues to engage with people when he is feeling more comfortable. This sweet boy is still figuring things out and showing us where his comfort level is as he adjusts to the shelter environment.
