A573608 Located At: Prince Georges County Animal Services Division Description: My name is Kane. I am a neutered male, brown and white American Pit Bull Terrier. Age: The shelter staff think I am about 4 years old. Weight: I weigh approximately 63.80 lbs. More Info: I have been at the shelter since Aug 25, 2026. Kane (A573608) Meet Kane ' the boy who was hiding his sparkle. Kane's shelter notes say \"social, energetic, housebroken.\" That's all true. But the real story is that Kane spent his first stretch here hiding the best parts of himself ' all because shelters can be scary, and even the bravest dogs need time to remember who they are. I saw that firsthand. The first time I met Kane, he was a little shy. Then a caretaker he recognized walked by, and I swear ' you'd have thought his long-lost owner just walked in. His whole mood flipped. Playful. Silly. Confident. And here's the amazing part: that version of Kane stuck around the whole time we hung out, even after the caretaker went on his way. So what does the real Kane look like? Oh, you're gonna like him. He's a professional tug-war champion: Flirt poles, ropes, anything you've got ' but flirt pulls and ropes are a must He walks like a gentleman He's a cuddle-ready big softie: Totally fine with handling ' and yes, he'll even let you pick him up. He dabbled in agility ' and then politely declined. He tried it, gave it a real go, and said \"no thanks, I'd rather tug.\" Honestly? Respect. He knows what he likes. Kane is proof that dogs are never finished becoming themselves. Give him time, patience, and a home to decompress in, and you won't just get a dog ' you'll get the whole Kane. And trust me, he's worth waiting for. Watch my video:
