Meet Doug ID #A2096645 3-year-old male Staffordshire Mix | White/Black Weight: 47 lbs Intake Date: 9/17/2026 💔 This sweet, quiet boy came to BARC after his owner passed away and the remaining household members were unable to care for the animals. Doug arrived with two other dogs and a cat, and suddenly everything he knew was gone. ⸻ 🩺 Medical Notes: * Heartworm NEGATIVE. * Developed sneezing and nasal discharge consistent with an upper respiratory infection (suspected CIRD). * Started doxycycline on October 3 for 10 days. URI was still noted on October 17. * Received routine vaccinations, deworming, and flea/heartworm prevention. ⸻ Behavior Notes: Doug is a gentle, reserved boy who seems to prefer peace and quiet over the chaos of shelter life. Initially frightened and unsure, but as he became more comfortable, his sweet personality began to shine. Staff describe Doug as very sweet, calm, and quiet. He spends much of his day curled up on his bed, keeps his kennel clean, and walks beautifully on a loose leash. He's greeted staff with soft eyes and a wagging tail, accepted treats gently, and welcomed affection once relaxed. Doug even interacted well with potential adopters and was reportedly almost adopted! This boy isn't asking for much'just a patient, loving person who will give him time to feel safe again.
