Wales is an adoptable female Shepherd looking for a home at Riverside County Animal Services-Riverside in Jurupa Valley, California. She is fully grown and large in size. She is currently on the shelter's euthanasia list with only 6 days left, listed due to behavior. Adopting Wales, or even sharing her story, could save a life before it's too late.

Can you help Wales??? transferdas@rivco.org Breed: Shepherd Age: The shelter staff think I am about 3 years old. STAFF OBSERVATIONS 03/14/26 INTAKE: Walked well on leash. Went into kennel with one of the RVT's and some coaxing from behind. 03/26/26 Dog participated in playgroup today. Dog was observed presenting fearful behaviors upon entry, tolerating greetings and giving corrections. Gave nervous greetings after some time in the yard, stuck with handlers when moving through yard. Gave an appropriate greeting to other dog toward the end of time in yard. 04/04/26 Dog participated in playgroup today. 04/14/26 Dog went to playgroup today. 04/23/26 Dog participated in playgroup today. 05/01/26 Dog came to playgroup today. 05/04/26 15:45 Observed this dog low growling while alarm barking at the front of the kennel. Behavior appears to be declining in the shelter environment. Has kennel mate at time of observation. 05/13/26 Dog participated in play group style today. 05/29/26 Dog participated in playgroup style today. 06/10/26 Dog participated in play group style with 30+ dogs today. 06/15/26 10:08 Dog appears to have shown improvement on socialness since intake. Dog has been social with handlers, other dogs/kennelmate at this time, and solicits attention. Prior dog was timid and would retreat & keep to self. 06/18/26 Dog participated in playgroup. 07/01/26 Dog participated in a playgroup style today. 07/14/26 Dog was out for playgroup. 07/31/26 Dog participated in single session enrichment with kennel mate today. 08/14/26 Dog participated in small playgroup. 08/24/26 Dog participated in single session enrichment with kennel mate. 09/15/26 Dog participated in small playgroup. 10/06/26 Dog participated in small playgroup. 10/19/26 13:41 Dog participated in single session enrichment with kennel mate. 10/20/26 12:11 Dog appears to be declining in shelter environment. Dog and current kennel mate lay in kennel and will not get up or approach handler despite soft coaxing. MEDICAL NOTES 03/14/26 16:07 Poss. Pregnant (Kennel in Maternity Ward) came in with pink/blue/orange collar Appears healthy at this time, BAR, Scan Neg. administered DAPP, Bordetella, no vectra. 03/19/26 SPAYED 06/11/26 13:59 P was presented by ACT with a small cut on top of nose. Unknown how P got it. Cleaned with chlorahex gauze and applied animax.
