Kangkang is an adoptable female German Shepherd looking for a home at NYC ACC-Queens in Ridgewood, New York. She is fully grown and medium in size. This pet is available only through ACC New Hope partners. To adopt or foster, please complete the pre-screener form below. Inquiries sent directly to ACC will not receive a response. Pre-Screener Form Kang Kang was surrendered by her previous owner due to barking in the home. Kang Kang has shown high levels of fear while at the care center, particularly on intake, where she barked and backed away from staff, and thrashed and rolled on leash while being moved. Kang Kang's previous owner's also reported that she shows fearful behavior around unfamiliar people, barking and growling. After some time to acclimate, staff are now able to walk Kang Kang on leash, although she remains avoidant of direct interaction. Due to Kang Kang's fearfulness, we recommend placement with a New Hope partner who can provide any necessary behavior modification (force-free, positive reinforcement-based) and re-evaluate behavior in a stable home environment before placement into a permanent home.
