Buddy

Buddy is an adoptable male American Staffordshire Terrier looking for a home at Dallas Animal Services in Dallas, Texas. He is fully grown and medium in size. He is listed on the shelter's euthanasia list, listed due to medical, and that date has now passed. Shelters often move these dates, so Buddy may still be waiting. The shelter can confirm.

Buddy is a male dog with an old fracture of the right femoral head and neck. He will need surgery called a femoral head ostectomy (FHO) to address the injury and help improve his comfort and mobility. Without appropriate treatment, Buddy may experience ongoing pain and difficulty walking. The specialized veterinary care and surgery he needs exceed what we can consistently provide in the shelter environment. Buddy deserves a safe, compassionate placement where he can receive the surgery, recovery support, and follow-up veterinary care he needs to improve his mobility and quality of life. Buddy is at risk for euthanasia due to medical concerns beyond our scope of care. If you are interested in adopting, fostering, or rescuing Buddy, please email dasadopt@dallas.gov.
