Yogi

Yogi is an adoptable male Norwegian Elkhound looking for a home at San Antonio Animal Care Services in San Antonio, Texas. He is a young adult and medium in size. He is currently on the shelter's euthanasia list with only 2 days left, listed due to lack of space. Adopting Yogi, or even sharing his story, could save a life before it's too late.

Evaluation Notes: 10/26/2026 - Play Group Dog is nervous in kennel upon approach by lip licking with a tense body. He is able to adjust and allows handler to leash him and walk him outside where he pulls on leash. Once outside, he adjusts and displays sociability with handlers by coming over to greet with a loose, wiggly body and a wagging tail. He displays sociability with female dogs observed with by engaging in high energy play behavior with a loose, wiggly body and a wagging tail. He is interested to engage in courtship behavior with A831534 's where he is disrespectful of her communications for space by attempting to mount her repeatedly where he is difficult to redirect. After being redirected, he respects this dogs communications and engages in play with other dog with a loose body and a wagging tail. As another male is brought to fence line, he reciprocates reactivity by growling, barking and lunging though fence with a tense body, wide eyes, pinned ears and a high wagging tail. He is difficult to redirect by handler and snaps at the nearest dog seemingly in redirection. He is returned to kennel.
