OWNER IS NEEDING TO SURRENDER THIS DOG BECAUSE HE DOES NOT GET ALONG WITH THE OTHER DOGS AND CATS IN THE HOME. How long have you had your pet? SINCE NOVEMBER 2025. OWNER ADVISED THAT SHE RESCUED THIS DOG FROM A HOMELESS FRIEND. THE DOG WAS RESCUED AFTER A DOG FIGHT THAT LEFT HIM WITH SEVERE INJURIES AND OWNER WAS ABLE TO GET HIM HEALED AND PLACED IN A SAFE HOME. OWNER STATES THAT HE WAS NOT THE AGGRESSOR AND HE WAS RESCUED WHEN HE WAS THE DOG MAULED BY OTHER DOGS. Where did you get this animal from? A HOMELESS FRIEND Is your pet spayed/neutered? YES (PROOF HAS BEEN PROVIDED AND UPLOADED) Is this animal currently showing any signs of illness, taking any medication, or has the animal been diagnosed with a medical or behavioral condition? OWNER ONLY EXPRESSED THAT SHE FEELS THAT THIS DOG MAY BE EXPERIENCING SOME NEUROLOGICAL ISSUES, POSSIBLE BRAIN DAMAGE. SHE BELIEVES THIS TO BE DUE TO HIS PREVIOUS DOG FIGHTING. CERTAIN SIGNS OF POSSIBLE BRAIN DAMAGE THAT SHE PROVIDED WOULD BE \"KNUCKLING\" WITH HIS HIND PAWS. OWNER ALSO MENTIONED THAT HIS NOSE WOULD SOMETIMES BLEED FOR NO REASON AT ALL. A HUSKY AND A GERMAN SHEPHERD. OWNER STATES THAT THIS DOG GOT INTO A FIGHT WITH THE HUSKY MARCH 2026 AND LEFT A PUNCTURE IN HER RIB CAGE, BUT NO SERIOUS INJURY. OWNER ALSO MENTIONED THAT THIS DOG AND THE GERMAN SHEPHERD WERE REALLY BONDED AT ONE POINT, UNTIL A DOG FIGHT TOOK PLACE WITH THEM 2 MONTHS AGO. NO SERIOUS INJURIES IN THAT FIGHT AS THE OWNERS WERE ABLE TO BREAK IT UP BEFORE ANYTHING SERIOUS HAPPENED. How is the animal around children? OWNER STATES THAT THIS DOG IS VERY GOOD AROUND CHILDREN. HE HAS GROWN UP IN A HOME WITH 2 SMALL CHILDREN AND 2 TEENAGERS AND ABSOLUTELY LOVES THEM. HE LOVES TO PLAY WITH THEM AND SEEKS ATTENTION FROM THEM. Please describe behavior around children? OWNER HAS ONE CHILD THAT IS A 4 YR OLD AUTISTIC CHILD AND THIS DOG DOES VERY WELL WITH THIS CHILD. HE IS KENNEL TRAINED, BUT IS A OUTDOOR DOG. OWNER STATES THAT HE IS GREAT WITH KIDS AND COMES FROM A HOME WITH A AUTISITC CHILD AND THEY ARE REALLY GREAT FRIENDS. OWNER STATES THAT HE THINKS THAT HE IS A LAP DOG AS HE MIGHT KNOCK YOU OVER BECAUSE HE STILL DOESN'T THINK THAT HE IS THAT BIG OF A DOG. OWNER STATES THAT HE DOES NOT GET A LONG WELL WITH OTHER DOGS OR CATS AND WOULD BE A GREAT DOG WITH A ONLY DOG PROFILE. OWNER STATES THAT HE IS A VERY SPECIAL AND SWEET DOG AND HE LOVES ATTENTION. HE RUNS GOOFY (ALMOST LIKE A DEER), BUT HE LOVES TO RUN AND PLAY WITH PEOPLE. OWNER STATES THAT HIS BAD HABITS ARE: HE DIGS WHEN IT GETS HOT, HE EATS DIRTY DIAPERS, ATTACKS OTHER DOGS, CHASES AFTER CATS, EATS CHILDREN TOYS IF GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY AND WHEN BORED. Evaluation Comments (Observations from our staff and volunteers) 10/28/2026 Updating color due to NHO status. 10/27/2026 Outside for AM cleaning laying in middle of kennel with tense trembling body, wide eyed, easily startled by loud noises, would start to soften and wag tail as handler baby talked and called dog by name. Easy leash placement at front of kennel, exited with easy leash pull and easy leash pull to main play yard, timid and wary of reactive dogs in passing with some tucked tail but started to have loose tail wag when approaching yard. In yard dog had soft body, wagging tail, high energy, stayed close to handler all of evaluation accepting pets and accepting treats gently. Has small bursts of overarousal when petted as handler sat on bench, wide mouth panting, jumps up onto handler quickly with wide eyes, able to direct off with no issues, would solicit attentions with handler and settle once directed away. Observed dog \"knuckling\" whenever walking around yard and petted, will do a big stretch while dragging top of paws onto dirt. Slight interest in toys in yard, would sniff rope toys and started to chase after tennis ball thrown but did not recover, returned to handler for attentions. No issues with return, startled by reactive dogs in passing otherwise soft neutral body and loose tail wag, walked into kennel on own and allowed handler to remove leash by hand. 10/27/2026 Had to move for AM cleaning, crouched against door, easy to leash, had calm relaxed body once out of the kennel, easy polite walk to the back half of kennels. entered kennel with no issue and allowed leash to be removed from hand 10/23/2026 Easy leashing, walking into Triage. Would occasionally freeze and hard stare at handlers. Tolerated restraint for vaccines.
