Aresa
American Staffordshire Terrier (mix breed)
Urgent: 1 Day Left
Scheduled: November 1, 2026
Reason: Medical
Aresa is an adoptable female American Staffordshire Terrier looking for a home at Dallas Animal Services in Dallas, Texas. She is fully grown and medium in size. She is currently on the shelter's euthanasia list with just one day left, listed due to medical. Adopting Aresa, or even sharing her story, could save a life before it's too late.
Aresa is a female dog who presented with ataxia and a hypermetric gait, indicating abnormal coordination and exaggerated limb movements. These neurological abnormalities require further diagnostic evaluation to help determine the underlying cause and guide appropriate treatment. Additional diagnostics and ongoing veterinary follow-up are recommended to assess her condition and support her quality of life. This level of specialized veterinary care and continued monitoring exceeds what we can consistently provide in the shelter environment. Despite her condition, Aresa deserves the opportunity to receive further evaluation and appropriate care. She needs a safe, compassionate placement where she can receive additional diagnostic testing, ongoing veterinary follow-up, and appropriate treatment and supportive care to address her neurological concerns and improve her overall well-being. This pet is at risk for euthanasia due to medical concerns beyond our scope of care. If you are interested in adopting, fostering, or rescuing Aresa, please email dasadopt@dallas.gov.
