A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.' She was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen and began to seek affection. She entered the play yard with soft body language. She bypassed the other dogs and began to explore the yard. She was tolerant of dogs trailing her to sniff her. She gave a lip curl warning for space to a male Pitbull that lingered near her face. He respected this and walked away. She continued to roam the yard and was more tolerant of very calm dogs. She continued to give show of teeth or air snap warnings to higher energy dogs or dogs lingered in her face. She would approach the handlers often and seek affection. She would do best with a very calm dog that will respect her space and boundaries.
