Sienna was at the front of the kennel barking and growling defensively as the runner approached. Sienna wouldn?t settle and was shifted to the other side of the kennel run where it was quieter. Sienna appeared concerned and was leashed using a slow approach. She walked ahead of the runner with a slight pull on the leash bypassing the dogs along the way. Once in the catch pen Sienna was collared and leashed using a slow approach as she appeared timid. Sienna greeted the dogs at the barrier with a neutral demeanor and was allowed into the play yard. Sienna displayed a slightly tense body, closed mouth, ears back, low tail, and soft eyes. She allowed the dogs to gather and greet her, tolerating them sniffing her. Once the group dispersed sienna moved on and explored the yard sniffing and marking various locations. Sienna appeared wary of the playful dogs and was shifted to the adjacent yard with gentle/dainty dogs. She appeared much more at ease and explored the yard. She exchanged greetings with the other calm dogs nicely and continued to roam. After some time, she started to approach the handler and allowed petting. She occasionally returned for further petting, appearing more at ease relaxed body/wiggly tail with subsequent interactions. Sienna was given play bows by one of the dogs and she played chase briefly. After she spent the remainder of the play session exploring or finding a place to lay down. I knelt down and she stopped. I stood up and unlocked the kennel and she started to back up (whale eye, avoiding direct eye contact) I closed her inside and was able to step in and leash without incident. Easy on leash, in the yard I allowed her to explore. At times she would approach me when I wasn't looking and lean against me but when I turned around she would have concerned eyes/whale eyes and lip licking. I went slow and was able to pet/touch and perform handling "exam". She was tense the entire time, closed mouth and would stiffen up. I was able to place an ID band on her and return to kennel with a double leash. Rescue Only at this time with a KHOA for handling sensitivity FEARFUL/FROZEN NEEDS ASSESSMENT LOW B-MOD HANDLING 10/15/2025 Eval Type: Training: Kids: Large Dogs: Small Dogs: Energy Level:Ken Handling: Reactive: Play Style: Sociability: Animal ID: Review Date: Eval Date: Eval Location: Eval Comments: 2Print Date: 10/27/2025 sienna Behavior Assessments.pdf Added Oct 27, 2025 at 1:50 PM ? 79.86 KB Open in new tab Download
