About Millie

This DOG - ID#A586959 I am a female, black and brown German Shepherd Dog. Shelter staff think I am about 3 years old. I have been at the shelter since Oct 31, 2025. This sweet girl is another one to be purged due to coming to the facility injured, suspected she was hit by a car. Even though according to her card she's not showing any signs of pain when getting up or down, able to stand, ambulatory, is mildly slow and tender when walking. This preciphs girl needs help in the form of a foster or adopter to save her life! Can anyone help by opening up your heart and home to save her life? Evaluated patient today as patient was very timid and fearful yesterday upon arrival. Patient is able to stand x4, ambulatory, wagging tail - no obvious signs of pain when getting up and down. Is mildly slow and tender when walking suspect sore vs painful secondary to suspect trauma. Will continue patient on pain management. -AU Gabapentin 300mg - 2 cap PO BID x 7d 2.00 GABAPENTIN 300MG 2.00 TIMES/DAY FOR 7.00 DAYS 11/01/25 OTHERWeight: pounds 11/01/25 16:46 The patient appears to have an unusual rear gait, finder stated they thought she may have been an HBC. The doctor found the patient to be amb. x 4, QAR and currently stable. The patient appears to have possible hip dysplasia and will need more follow-up medical exams and radiographs and possible life long medical treatments or possible surgery. Since we do not have a vet on site and the shelter is not a conducive environment for patients needing long term treatment, we will have to place her on a medical deadline. Will continue with current medication per protocol. This animal requires follow-up care that exceeds the resources currently available at our facility. A medical deadline has been set for placement or humane euthanasia if the condition deteriorates. If the patient?s health declines, earlier humane euthanasia may be considered. ********Medical deadline: 11/04/2025 at 2:00PM******** Animal Notes & Behavior History Customer Service Intake Length of time with RP: a few minutes Location found: was hit by a car in a busy street Behavior of animal with RP: friendly but panting heavily, in pain Has the animal shown symptoms of illness (vomiting, diarrhea, mucus etc): was hit by a car Confinement method (leashed, kenneled, in box, jumped in car): was able to carry the dog into the car with the help of others Is RP willing to hold for a few days, network, foster, or adopt animal? no V152 A586959 A586959 - 3 Years Female Black/Brown Germ Shepherd
