Kuma

Kuma is an adoptable female Mastiff looking for a home at Los Angeles County - Lancaster in Lancaster, California. She is still very young and small in size. She entered the play yard with soft body language. She was approached by a high energy female Pitbull in a fast manner. She dropped to the ground and displayed passive appeasement behaviors. When the female Pitbull became pushy and was climbing on her attempting to entice play, Kuma gave a show of teeth waming and then an air snap correction. The high energy Pitbull was placed into an adjoining yard, to give Kuma time to acclimate. Kuma began to roam the yard and explore. She would approach the handlers often and seek affection. She remained wary of the other dogs, but she tolerated them. After some time, she grew a little more in confidence and began to exchange some soft greetings. She remained wary of the higher energy dogs or dogs lingening near her face. She would benefit from continued socialization to build her confidence with other dogs. She would do best with a calm dog that will respect her space and boundanes, allowing her time to gain more confidence with a new dog
