He entered the play yard with soft body language. He was approached by two dogs and tolerated them both sniffing him, but he was tense. After the dogs broke away, he began to roam the yard and explore. He was tolerant of dogs trailing him to sniff him. After a little time, he appeared to relax more and began to exchange soft greetings with the other dogs. He remained calm and social for the rest of his time in the yard. There were dogs playing during his time in the yard, but he did not engage in or entice any play. A female Pitbull also offered him play bows and tried a few times to entice him into play, but he declined her invitations. He would approach the handlers when called and sought affection. Tom is social with the other dogs, but he displayed no play style at this time. See handling assessment for further information. He approached with soft body language and beganto seek affection. He allowed the handler to pet his head with no reaction. He allowed the handler to check his teeth with no reaction. He allowed the handler to check his ears with no reaction. He allowed the handler to touch and lift his front paws with no reaction. He allowed the handler to touch his tail without issue. When the handler touched his rear paws, he quickly pulled them away. After the handling, he continued to seek affection. He displayed no negative or conceming behaviortoward the handler. He was retumed to his kennel without issue. He will need further socialization to walking on leash.
