A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out'or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences. Wyatts A5792989 (Altered) welcomed the runner with a relaxed posture, approaching to sniff the runner's hand through the barrier. He was easily leashed and exited the kennel on his own. Wyatts proceeded to make his way to the catch pen, walking alongside the runner while appearing slightly concerned as he passed through the kennel environment. Once inside the catch pen, he remained calm during collar and leash placement. Wyatts was then allowed into the yard, where he exchanged greetings with some of the dogs, exhibiting a neutral posture during the interactions. Following the introduction, he moved on to explore the environment while sniffing the dogs he met along the way. He occasionally approached the handlers to solicit affection. Wyatts eventually made a friend, with both performing play bows without engaging in sustained play. Near the end of the session, Wyatts was corrected on multiple occasions as he began to display sexually motivated behavior. Once the session concluded, he was returned to his kennel without incident. Wyatts could benefit from continued socialization in a yard setting with calm dogs, as this may allow him to interact at his own pace and gradually develop his social skills.
