Canelo is an adoptable male German Shepherd looking for a home at Riverside County Animal Services-Riverside in Jurupa Valley, California. He is fully grown and large in size. He is currently on the shelter's euthanasia list with only 5 days left, listed due to behavior. Adopting Canelo, or even sharing his story, could save a life before it's too late.

I am a neutered male, 61.00 lbs, brown German Shepherd Dog. I have been at the shelter since Jan 30, 2026. I am an at risk animal. Please contact the shelter for more information. STAFF OBSERVATIONS 01/30/26 Did well on leash approached to petted, had no reaction to dogs in receiving. 02/04/26 07:48 Upon approach, dog was soliciting attention from handler. Appears to be doing well with kennel mate. 02/04/26 10:25 Very easy to leash up. Walked well to play yard. Solicited attention from handler, also while in play yard enjoyed playing fetch and laying on grass for belly scratches. No issues re-kenneling 02/06/26 Dog participated in playgroup today. Dog is spinning in kennel, alarm barking, and height seeking throughout observation. MEDICAL NOTES 01/31/26 11:26 MC scan neg. Came in with broken red collar with white paws. BAR, friendly and energetic. Confirmed intact male. Admin da2ppv+L, bordatella and vectra per protocol.
