Memo 8/28/2026 08/28/26 15:39 Due to a prior bite and related circumstances, canine requires placement in a secure, well-managed environment. Placement with a New Hope Partner is required by close of business 9/2/26 to ensure appropriate behavioral support and reduce risk of recurrence. May be at risk for euthanasia 9/3/26 or sooner if warranted. Evaluation Comments (Observations from our staff and volunteers) 8/28/2026 Handler approached kennel front; Dog was standing at door with ears alert; swift tail wagging; mild panting; Handler unlocked door and held leash in opening; Dog came forward to sniff leash and retreats back slightly; handler tries leashing 2 different times under chin and over head; dog was wary of leash; Handler decides to place leash over head; wasn't fully secure so stood adjusting leash from distance until secured; Once secured handler opened door and dog walked out;alert; stopped to sniff dogs in passing; disengaged and kept walking with handler; Once out in yard handler secured leash; ran leash along back side; dog seemed unphased; Handler dropped leash and allowed dog to roam yard; Dog was stopping and sniffing; Urinated in multiple spots; Shortly later defecating; Solicited pets and attention from both handlers with and without coaxing; Dog was treat motivated; a little grabby with treats; demonstrated command knowledge \"Sit, Shake.\" Patiently waits for treats; Allowed handlers to pluck off some excess hair tuffs; Dog was neutral bodied tail aligned; Dog did jump up on front twos on both handlers at some point; redirected down with ease; Dog did jump up once in close proximity of handlers chest; Dog also did bump into handler with force; Dog struggles with body awareness of others; Relaxed neutral demeanor; When time to go handler walked to catch pen; Dog followed handlers and allowed leash grab, adjustment and handler added clip leash for precaution; Dog walked with mild pull and stopped and sniffed neighbors; Stopped at a barrier aggressive dog; handler had to use leash guidance and mild pull this dog away; dog went right into kennel; handler attempted to use clip leash for removal; leash was not wrapped up weird; handler removed rest of leash by hand with no issues; left jackpot of treats to end on positive interaction; 8/28/2026 Updating color due to NHO status. 8/16/2026 Finder walked dog out on leash, when attempting to pick up and place in truck kennel dog began growling, lip licking, placed control device, 2 ACOs needed to load.
