PAST HARD DEADLINE 🤯💔 STILL ALIVE BUT DANGEROUSLY OUT OF TIME 🆘🆘 This poor dog has been sitting in a kennel scared out of his mind since August 12th. He is being so brave despite it all but the worst is yet to come and our hearts are breaking thinking of his final experience if left behind in the shelter.. panic and terror until his final breath. 😪💔 No animal deserves to d!e traumatized and unloved but it is a daily reality for helpless animals who find themselves unclaimed and out of time in the shelter' being 5 days past a hard deadline is unheard of, and the chance he will continue to bear the odds gets slimmer by the hour. This boy needs help and he needs it NOW!! He came in relaxed and easily leashed but has shut down in the chaotic stressful shelter environment. Now he is too afraid to trust and trying his best to be tough in the face of fear. KHS evaluations are brief, only a few minutes, and not enough time to earn the trust of a scared dog who takes a bit more time and patience to come out of their shell' he is desperate for someone who will give him a quiet place to decompress and become the smiley guy he was on intake once again. 🙏😩 KHS NOTES: RESCUE PULL ONLY BEHAVIORAL BEHAVIOR *Rescue Pull Only�Assessor approached kennel door dog was standing in front of kennel, stiff body, alert stare, tail neutral. As assessor got close to kennel, dog started to bark at assessor and dog quick tail wags. Assessor presented treats, dog sniffed and ate, assessor presented leash, dog sniffed but started to back up and bark at assessor again after. Assessor opened kennel door, dog stopped barking and did come forward, but as assessor presented leash again dog started to stiffen and low growl, assessor presented some more treats which dog ate without sniffing but after dog did not form back to kennel door opening and would just bark at assessor and low growl when assessor present leash or shift stance. Dog started to hard stare and low growl when assessor stood to close kennel door and end evaluation. Due to negative behaviors shown assessor deems dog not an adoption candidate.
