The date this shelter listed for Harley has passed. Shelters often push these dates back, and many pets are adopted or pulled by a rescue first, so Harley may still be there. The shelter can tell you.
Harley is an adoptable male American Staffordshire Terrier looking for a home at San Antonio Animal Care Services in San Antonio, Texas. He is a young adult and large in size. He is listed on the shelter's euthanasia list, listed due to lack of space, and that date has now passed. Shelters often move these dates, so Harley may still be waiting. The shelter can confirm.
Evaluation Notes: Dog is trembling with a tucked tail and wide eyes upon first approach. He is easy to leash where he slowly walks out of the kennel with raised hackles, a tucked tail, and a lowered body posture. He flinches at dogs barking in the passing kennels. While outside, he is able to adjust by greeting passing handlers with soft paws, a wagging tail, and a loose body while whining intermittently. He knows the behavior \"sit\" and is not interested in consuming offered treats. He displays sociability with a specific female dog on the other side of the barrier by approaching with a loose body and wagging tail. When other dogs are passing the yard, he is reactive by barking, growling, and jumping forward with raised hackles and a tense body. He moderately pulls on leash while being walked back to his kennel. Animal ID: A823159 Breed: AMERICAN STAFF / BLEND Color: WHITE / GRAY Age: 2 Years and 1 Month Due Out Date: 08/30/2026
