Kobe A5798055 (Altered) was resting on his bed with a neutral demeanor when the runner arrived. He leaned toward the kennel door and licked the runner's hand through the barrier. The runner then proceeded to slowly place the leash over Kobe's head, as he was initially wary of the leash. Kobe exited the kennel on his own and made his way to the catch pen, walking slowly while appearing overwhelmed in the kennel environment. Once inside the catch pen, Kobe remained calm during collar and leash placement. He was then allowed into the yard, where he exchanged greetings with some of the dogs, exhibiting a tense posture with a stiff, high tail during the interactions. However, Kobe's body gradually began to soften as the interactions continued. Following the introduction, Kobe moved on to explore the environment, comfortably sniffing the dogs he encountered along the way. He occasionally stopped by the handlers to solicit affection. For the remainder of the session, Kobe coexisted peacefully in the yard, preferring to keep to himself. Once the session concluded, he was returned to his kennel without incident. Kobe could benefit from continued socialization in a yard setting with calm dogs, allowing him to interact at his own comfort level to help improve his social skills.
