Daisy
German Shorthaired Pointer (mix breed)
Urgent: 2 Days Left
Scheduled: September 8, 2026
Reason: Medical
Daisy is an adoptable female German Shorthaired Pointer looking for a home at Dallas Animal Services in Dallas, Texas. She is a young adult and small in size. She is currently on the shelter's euthanasia list with only 2 days left, listed due to medical. Adopting Daisy, or even sharing her story, could save a life before it's too late.
Daisy is a female dog with a damaged and diseased cornea in her right eye (OD) that is causing significant concern for her comfort and well-being. Due to the severity of the eye disease, enucleation (surgical removal of the eye) is recommended to relieve discomfort, prevent worsening inflammation and complications, and improve her quality of life. This level of specialized surgical care and postoperative recovery support exceeds what we can consistently provide in the shelter environment. Despite her condition, Daisy remains resilient and is doing her best while receiving supportive care. Daisy needs a safe, compassionate placement where she can receive prompt veterinary evaluation, enucleation of her affected eye, and appropriate postoperative care to restore her comfort and allow her to recover. This pet is at risk for euthanasia due to the level of medical care required, which exceeds what we can provide in the shelter.
