A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behaviormay change based on swroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.\" She was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen. She entered the play yard with soft body language. She bypassed the other dogs and began to explore the yard. She was tolerant of dogs trailing her to sniff her. After exploring the yard, she began to exchange soft greetings with dogs that approached her. She remained calm and social for the rest of her time in the yard, but she appeared more comfortable around the calmer dogs. There were dogs playing during her time in the yard, but she did not engage in or entice any play. She would approach the handlers often and seek affection Gypsy is social with the other dogs, but she displayed no play style at this time and would likely do best with a calmer dog.
