A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out' or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behaviormay change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences. She was relaxed with an open mouth pant as the runner easily clasped the collar around her neck. She remained loose while greeting several dogs through the fence. She calmly entered the yard, showing no interest in the other dogs and kept to herself for several minutes. She was tolerant of a few dogs coming up to sniff her body but would not tum to greet them. She was enticed for play by a young, male Malinois on several occasions. After the third or fourth attempt, she exploded with play, chasing him around the yard for several minutes. She was very vocal and tried nipping his back end whenever he tumed in front of her. She tired quickly and laid down for a while. She exchanged good greetings with other dogs while she recuperated. Once rested, she got back up and began exploring the yard socially, exchanging good greetings with all. She enticed the Malinois for play again but was unsuccessful. She was also affectionate with the handlers on occasion and independent. She needs further socialization BEHAVIORALLY OK FOR PUBLIC ADOPTION, CALM DOGS (REC), MEDIUM ENERGY
