Marshy
American Staffordshire Terrier (mix breed)
Urgent: Last Day
Scheduled: September 9, 2026
Reason: Medical
Marshy is an adoptable female American Staffordshire Terrier looking for a home at Dallas Animal Services in Dallas, Texas. She is a young adult and medium in size. She is currently on the shelter's euthanasia list and today is the last day, listed due to medical. Adopting Marshy, or even sharing her story, could save a life before it's too late.
Marshy is a female dog who is severely emaciated and has been diagnosed with anemia and a heart murmur. Her condition is concerning and requires ongoing medical care, nutritional support, and further diagnostics to determine the underlying causes of her poor body condition and anemia. Marshy will require prolonged care and close monitoring, which exceeds the level of medical support we can consistently provide in the shelter environment. Without appropriate intervention, she is at risk for continued decline and additional complications. Despite her condition, Marshy remains resilient and is doing her best while receiving supportive care. Marshy needs a safe, compassionate placement where she can receive immediate veterinary evaluation, further diagnostic testing, nutritional rehabilitation, treatment for her anemia, and ongoing monitoring of her heart murmur and overall health. This pet is at risk for euthanasia due to the level of medical care required, which exceeds what we can provide at DAS.
