A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences. Seth A5799980 (Intact) was initially at the front of the kennel, alert barking as he noticed the runner arrive. He retreated to the rear after the leash was presented to him, requiring the runner to fully step into the kennel in order to leash him. Once leashed, Seth exited the kennel on his own, leading the way to the catch pen with a moderate pull on the leash while bypassing his neighboring kennels. He received a collar and a leash inside the catch pen without issue. Seth was then allowed into the yard, where he showed no interest in the other dogs, preferring to explore the environment. As he continued roaming the yard, a scuffle occurred after he met with one of the dogs face to face, both becoming confrontational and lunging offensively toward one another. They stopped with the use of a correction tool, but Seth continued fixating on the other dog, locking his focus as he stood growling with a stiff posture. He was quickly separated from the group to prevent further escalation. Seth was allowed to decompress alone before being returned to his kennel without incident. Seth could benefit from a home with no other dogs to prevent potential conflict.
