More Info: I have been at the shelter since Sep 10, 2026. I am in kennel DC34. Weight: 50 lbs Intake date: 9/10/26 Status: Rescue only ⸻ 🩺 MEDICAL NOTES: Mindy was found as a stray and the citizen reported that she had possibly been hit by a car. Because she was extremely frightened and difficult to evaluate, staff could not fully assess her gait, but she appeared able to use all four limbs. Given Carprofen 100 mg once daily for 7 days as a precaution. Heartworm test: NEGATIVE She also received Rabies, DA2PP-V, Bordetella, deworming, Pyrantel and Advantage Multi. ⸻ 🐾BEHAVIOR NOTES: Mindy is terrified in the shelter environment. She was found trembling in the back of her kennel with dilated pupils and initially pancaked when leashed. But when a staff member got down on her level and spoke gently to her, Mindy approached and sniffed their hand. She began walking out on her own before becoming frightened by a cleaner. The staff member was then able to sit with her, pet her, pick her up and carry her to a clean kennel without a muzzle. Mindy allowed more petting once she was safely settled.
