Placement with a New Hope Partner is needed by close of business 9/23/26 to provide structured support and prevent potential progression of these behaviors. Unknown which specific dogs were at large and involved in incidents. Evaluation Comments (Observations from our staff and volunteers) 9/18/2026 Handler approached kennel front and closed guillotine; Reapproached back; Dog was pancaked to ground; ears up; timid; hesitant wouldn't greet; Handler stepped in and was able to place leash over head; handler grabbed towel and put over dog; picked up and carried to M&G room; Dog remained in handlers arms; didn't try and retreat away; stayed calm as handler carried; Once in room handler secured leash; Pet dog for a few minutes and allowed him to decompress; tossed down treats; dog would engage in treat scatter; didn't solicit pets or attention on own; would allow handler to do light petting when taking treat from hand; handler would treat scatter close to handler proximity and dog would take treats that way; hesitant and timid if not treat trailed closer; if handler stood up and walked room dog would retreat to corner and wouldn't greet or approach; timid and wary of handler; dog would sit in corner soft stare; only would explore room if handler scattered treats otherwise dog would just sit in place; ears up; calm demeanor; soft stare at handler; handler sat on ground to see if dog would approach; with no luck; Handler allowed dog to decompress; dog remained in place; When time to go handler would approached slowly; dog would retreat away and hide under chair; handler would use treats and toss outward; dog would exit from under chair; handler would have to corner dog slowly allowed handler to grab leash; place towel over and picked up; remained in handlers arms; allowed petting to kennel; neutral demeanor; once at front of kennel handler unleashed by hand and set in kennel with no further issues; 9/17/2026 Dog was in back of kennel with kennel mate, guillotine door was not closing so assistant briefly stepped in and closed door by hand, both dogs stayed tucked into back of kennel. Handlers approached outside, dog was tucked into back corner, low tense posture, frozen in place, assistant leashed kennel mate, handler reached in and draped leash over this dog, dog tucked head low near kennel mate but able to slip leash over and secure, handler brought bucket to front of kennel, used leash pressure to guide dog into bucket, dog would pull back and thrash briefly but then jumped into bucket, stayed low for duration of transport. In M&G room dog slowly exited, began exploring/pacing, kept low tense posture with tucked tail, darting eyes, jumpy at movements. Handlers sat on chairs and tossed treats, dog would come up for treats on ground, kept moving around room, handler would softly pet back as dog weaved in and around their chair. Handler moved to get lower, kneeling in corner, dog would come up for treats around them, still wary but coming within reach, would keep pacing and not linger in their vicinity. Dog began alternating between handlers, coming up to take treats from each, kept weight shifted back, tense, started to take treats from their hands, assistant would briefly pet dog a few times, dog would lean back, tucking body low to ground near kennel mate. Dog spent a few minutes going back and forth from handlers, taking treats, ducking away from attempts to pet, did not settle, would sit under chair next to kennel mate. As handler tried to toss treats to kennel mate, this dog turned to eat them, froze with head low, tense, baring teeth at kennel mate over treats, handler picked up leash as assistant guided dog away from kennel mate using treat trail, once dog was away from kennel mate handlers stood up and picked up leashes, dog would pace around room, sat in corner, avoidant, handler used leash pressure to move dog back into bucket, dog stayed low in bucket for transportation, handler added clip leash, once bucket was tipped dogs easily entered kennel and allowed leash removal with clip leash. 9/9/2026 Caught on catch pole,did not allow handling 9/9/2026 K9 allowed all handling, k9 was carried into ramp, k9 allowed petting, ORANGE DUE TO BEING ON CATCH POLE IN FIELD 9/9/2026 Requesting full eval due to history Name: Corduroy Animal ID: A5171348 Breed: RED TICK/WHITE AUST SHEPHERD/MIX Sex: Male Age: 1Y 0M Weight: 21.8 lbs Kennel: East Kennel, Wing S - 206 Intake Date: 9/9/2026 Deadline Date: 9/23/2026
