Placement with a New Hope Partner is needed by close of business 9/23/26 to provide structured support and prevent potential progression of these behaviors. Unknown which specific dogs were at large and involved in incidents. Evaluation Comments (Observations from our staff and volunteers) 9/18/2026 Dog was in back of kennel with kennel mate, handler stepped in to place leash, dog was darting and pacing at back of kennel, low body, tucked tail, heavy flinch when leash touched, handler was able to drape leash over dog as she tucked into corner, handler picked up dog with towel, assistant carried kennel mate to separate yard. Dog was tense, urinated and defecated as handler carried dog to room, placed dog on floor, dog continued defecating as handler moved towel and adjusted leash stopper, sitting in corner, pressing body tightly against wall. Handler sat in chair opposite from dog, began tossing treats, dog would slowly come a few steps forward, maintained a few feet of distance from handler for duration of evaluation, slow tense movements, low body, wide eyes. Dog would freeze in the middle of room, hard staring at handler with lowered head, handler would toss treats to break dogs gaze. Dog stayed in corner, sat and watched other staff go by outside room, rounded posture, whale eye, tightly closed mouth. Handler sat and tossed treats for a few minutes, dog would only take treats closest to her, occasionally pausing and staring again, frozen tense body, handler spoke softy and continued to toss treats, assistant brought taxi to room handler picked up leash as dog tucked into corner, assistant tipped taxi at front of room, handler used leash pressure to move dog into taxi, dog was repeatedly trying to jump out as handler returned dog to kennel, added clip leash, once in front of kennel handler began to tip taxi down, dog jumped out as soon as possible, ran to back of kennel, removed leash with clip leash. 9/17/2026 Handler approached kennel front; Dogs were already outside; Handler closed guillotine; Handlers reapproached back; dogs were timid; pancaked to ground; unsure stare; Handler had to step in and attempt to leash; This dog was pacing back and forth avoiding leash; erratic walking away from leash; Handler was able to place leash of 3rd or 4th try; Assistant handler went in and leashed kennel mate (A5171348). used light leash pressure into taxi; dog went in taxi and pancaked; didn't move; frozen in place; Once in M&G room handlers tipped taxi down and kennel mate exited taxi; dropped down treat scatter and this one walked out slowly; retreats to corner of room; Didn't move or explore room at all during evaluation; Handler would drop treat scatter down near dog; dog would lean out and reach for treat didn't stand up; remained this way entire evaluation; handler would pet dog in increments; gave treats after dog allowed; skin crawl with touch; remained stoic; frozen; didnt loosen or didn't interact with kennel mate; just wish reach forward for treats but remained pancaked; When time to go handler did light petting and used one arm to keep leash stiffened outward; handler pet gently and picked up dog briefly to set in taxi; dog allowed handler to pick up and set in taxi; while assistant got kennel mate in; Once both dogs in; this one pancaked in taxi; when being wheeled back to kennel this dog would stand up and peer over sides; did sniff towards air once outside; stood up on side and slipped back down; at kennel front; handlers clipped on clip leads dogs allowed; tipped taxi downward and dogs went in; was able to retrieve both leashes by clip lead; no further issues; 9/9/2026 Caught on catch pole, alligator rolled, did not allow handling 9/9/2026 k9 flared in dog taxi, k9 was brought into ramp with dog taxi, k9 didnt allow any handling without flaring, k9 timid when touched, K9 ORANGE DUE TO BEHAVIOR, avoidant of handler Name: Suede Animal ID: A5171353 Breed: WHITE/BROWN AUST SHEPHERD/MIX Sex: Female Age: 1Y 0M Weight: 17.0 lbs Kennel: East Kennel, Wing S - 206 Intake Date: 9/9/2026 Deadline Date: 9/23/2026
