Bisquit

Bisquit is an adoptable male Labrador Retriever looking for a home at BARC Animal Shelter in Houston, Texas. He is a young adult and medium in size. ID #A2094079 12-month-old neutered male Labrador Retriever mix Black / White Weight: 38.2 lbs Intake date: 9/1/26 🎥 Watch Bisquit: ⸻ 🩺 MEDICAL NOTES: Bisquit is heartworm LOW POSITIVE and will need appropriate heartworm treatment. He was also monitored for possible URI symptoms, but on 9/13 he was bright, alert and responsive with no significant findings. 💉 Neuter verified. Vaccinated, dewormed and received preventative treatment. ⸻ 🐾BEHAVIOR NOTES: Bisquit is still just a puppy, and the kennel environment appears to be difficult for him. Early on, he became reactive and barked when groups of people passed his kennel. But outside his kennel, staff describe a very different Bisquit. He walks great on a loose leash, is relaxed outside and does well in the runs. Later notes describe him quietly curled up asleep on his bedding, getting up to greet staff with a loose body and remaining relaxed on leash. Staff also noted that he became quieter and more relaxed in his kennel over time. Bisquit is showing that once he's away from the stress of people constantly passing his kennel, he can settle and relax.
