Trina is an adoptable female Labrador Retriever looking for a home at BARC Animal Shelter in Houston, Texas. She is a young adult and medium in size. More Info: I have been at the shelter since Sep 23, 2026. I am in kennel DB16. ID #A2097403 2-year-old female Staffordshire / Labrador Retriever mix Black Weight: 35 lbs Intake date: 9/23/26 Status: Rescue only ⸻ 🩺 MEDICAL NOTES: Trina arrived limping on her right rear leg. Her exam found mild muscle atrophy, thickening around the knee and a healing sore on her paw pad. Veterinarians suspect a possible cranial cruciate ligament injury or another orthopedic problem, and X-rays of her pelvis, knees and hocks are needed. 💊 Rimadyl/Carprofen prescribed for pain and inflammation for 14 days. 💔 Trina is also HIGH HEARTWORM POSITIVE and will need treatment. She has a scar with hair loss on her right hip that currently requires no treatment. ⸻ 🐾BEHAVIOR NOTES: Despite everything she's dealing with, Trina has been described simply as 'friendly.' She greeted staff at her kennel door with a fast-wagging tail and wiggly body, allowed herself to be easily leashed and walked semi-loosely to and from the potty yard. Inside her kennel, Trina waits excitedly at the door hoping someone will stop and give her attention. This sweet girl clearly wants human interaction.
