ID #A2097549 8-year-old male German Shepherd mix Brown / Blonde Weight: 58 lbs Intake date: 9/23/26 Status: Rescue only 💔 Bill came into BARC with another dog, ID #A2097522, who is no longer listed on 24Petconnect. We do not know that dog's status. Now Bill needs someone to make sure he gets out safely. ⸻ 🩺 MEDICAL NOTES: Senior Bill walks stiffly through his rear end and carries his hindquarters low. Veterinarians are considering several possible causes, including hip dysplasia, spinal arthritis/spondylosis, lumbosacral arthritis or degenerative myelopathy. 💊 Rimadyl/Carprofen and Gabapentin were prescribed for pain for 14 days. 🦷 Bill also has worn teeth/dental disease and needs dental X-rays, cleaning and possible extractions. 💔 He is LOW HEARTWORM POSITIVE and will need treatment. ⸻ 🐾BEHAVIOR NOTES: Bill appears timid and scared in the shelter, particularly around other dogs. On 9/25, he approached with a low wagging tail and walked pressed against his handler for reassurance on the way to and from the runs. He has allowed staff to leash him and has walked loosely to the potty yard. In his kennel, he spends much of the day quietly lying on his blanket.
