Koda is an adoptable female Siberian Husky looking for a home at Los Angeles County - Lancaster in Lancaster, California. She is fully grown and medium in size. She entered the play yard with soft body language. She bypassed the other dogs and began to roam the yard and explore. She was tolerant of dogs trailing her to sniff her. After explonng the yard, she began to exchange soft greetings with the other dogs. She remained social for the rest of her time in the yard, but she appeared more comfortable around the calmer dogs. There were dogs playing during her time in the yard, but she did not engage in or entice any play. She would not approach the handlers and was very wary of their movements. She would constantly run to create space from the handlers in the yard. After a while, she began to pace the fence line, seeking an exit. To prevent any stress to her and her possibly trying to escape, she was removed from the yard at this time. Koda is social with the other dogs, but she displayed no play style at this time and would likely do best with a calmer dog. See handling assessment for further stipulations. The handler knelt and called to her, but she did not approach. The handler slowly approached her, and she allowed the handler to pet her. She then pancaked to the ground. She allowed the handler to check her teeth with no reaction. She allowed the handler to check her ears with no reaction. She allowed the handler to touch her tail with no reaction. She allowed the handler to touch all her paws with no reaction. Although she allowed all areas to be touched, she remained fearfully pancaked to the ground. She displayed no negative or conceming behavior toward the handler, but she needs a slower approach. Due to her need for a slower approach and being very wary of people, she would likely do best in an adult only home. She will need some that will go slow and build trust with her.
