Lucky is an adoptable male Siberian Husky looking for a home at Los Angeles County - Lancaster in Lancaster, California. He is fully grown and medium in size. He entered the play yard with soft body language. He was approached by a female Pitbull and exchanged a soft greeting with her. He was then approached by a male Pitbull and exchanged a soft greeting with him. He began to roam the yard and explore. He was tolerant of dogs trailing him to sniff him. He continued to roam the yard and exchanges soft greetings with the other dogs. He gave an appropriate correction to a male Pitbull that playfully jumped on him. He remained social for the rest of his time in the yard, but he appeared more comfortable around the calmer dogs. There were dogs playing during his time in the yard, but he did not engage in or entice any play. He did mount dogs a fewtimes, but he was easily steered by the handlers. He would approach nearer to the handlers, but he would not fully engage with them. He was also wary of faster movements and needed a slower approach. Lucky is social with the other dogs, but he displayed no play style at this time and would likely do best with a calmer dog. See handling assessment for further stipulations. The handler knelt and called to him. He approached a little closer, but he was wary to fully approach. The handler slowly picked up his leash and knelt a little closer to him. He allowed the handler to pet his head without issue. He allowed the handler to check his ears with no reaction. He was wary still wary, and the handler hadto make slowmovements. When the handler tned to check his teeth, he tumed his head away. When the handler touched and lifted his front paw, he began to give a low growl waming. When the handler touched his tail, he looked back with wide eyes and licking his lips. He was wary of the handler's movements and kept positioning himself to remain facing them. When the handler touched his back paw, he growled and spun around fast, trying to bite. The handler had to prevent him doing so by controlling the leash. After a couple of seconds, he calmed down again. He was retumed to his kennel without issue. Due to his handling sensitivities, he will be designated as rescue only.
