A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out'or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences. He was loose with a neutral tail wag while seeking affection from the runner as the collar was clasped around his neck. He remained loose while greeting several dogs through the fence. He was immediately social with the dogs as he entered the yard, engaging a group who came up to greet him. He exchanged good greetings will all, even tolerating a male Corso obnoxiously lingering close to his face. He was enticed for play by a female Akita but declined her invitation, choosing to explore the yard. He tolerated a few trailing alongside while sniffing his body as he explored. The male Corso was obnoxious and tried enticing him for play repeatedly. He was not comfortable with the Corso's assertiveness and backed away. He approached the handlers on several occasions to solicit affection calmly, leaning against their legs while receiving back rubs. He appeared playful on a few occasions when a female Akita enticed him. He tapped his feet and jumped but never engaged in full play while in the yard. He remained social and friendly for the remainder of his time in the yard. He is currently kenneled with another large dog and two small dogs. One of the small dogs weighs less than twenty pounds and there have been no notes of him having any issues with either of them. BEHAVIORALLY OK FOR PUBLIC ADOPTION, CALM DOGS (REC), MEDIUM ENERGY
