Evaluation Comments (Observations from our staff and volunteers) 10/7/2026 On approach, dog was at front of kennel. Wagged tail but avoidant, walked to outter portion of kennel and stayed there looking at handler, maintained soft body & wagging tail. Met dog on outside of kennel, allowed for easy leash placement and walked slowly out of kennel. Urinated & defecated, wobbley but kept slow walk pace with handler. Soliciates attention from handler, leans in to petting. On return, entered kennel easily, allowed leash removal by hand. Attempted to push back out but easily held back. Wagging tail as handler exited. 10/5/2026 Dog was kenneled outside for AM cleaning, sat in corner, shifting uneasily in place but gave a brief low tail wag, handler spoke softly and reached in leash, dog took a step forward to sniff leash, ducked head low as handler tried to place leash, sitting back in corner, handler was able to reach in further and drape leash over head without no issues and dog walked out of kennel easily, stopped to urinate, walked to yard slowly, once in yard dog stopped to defecate and urinate, then walked to fence and stood in corner, sniffing at gate, handler approached to clean up, dog was softly panting, sat in corner as handler cleaned nearby. Handler tried to lure dog out of corner, tossed a toy nearby, dog leaned forward to sniff but showed no further interest, would not come up to handler, remained neutral, stoic. Handler approached and picked up leash, tried to walk dog back into middle of yard, had to use some leash pressure before dog started to follow handler back, world stop and sniff ground, pulling back toward fence, handler walked back to fence with dog, softly petting along their side as they sniffed at fence, neutral body, low tail, did not solicit attention but tolerated all petting, eventually following handler back across the yard toward catch pen, would move slowly and try to pull back to other side of yard. Handler pet dog softly again in catch pen, no reaction, walked back to kennel with mild pull and walked into kennel easily, allowed leash removal by hand and some gentle petting while standing at the front of kennel. Older Children 12+ due to handling sensitivites 10/2/2026 Hesitant but allowed some petting of body and took treats from handler. When attempting to touch around head or neck area for restraint, dog growled and jumped away. Unable to muzzle, as dog was very reactive for any head touch. Used press gate to give vaccines. Dog low growled with vaccines. Walked to kennel and entered without issue. Medical Treatments 10/4/2026 10/04/26 13:41 BAR, timid initially, then very friendly.
