Squeaky is an adoptable female American Staffordshire Terrier looking for a home at Philadelphia Animal Care and Control in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is fully grown and medium in size. She is listed on the shelter's euthanasia list, listed due to lack of space, and that date has now passed. Shelters often move these dates, so Squeaky may still be waiting. The shelter can confirm.
Squeaky ACCT-A-257782 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to length of stay and lack of space for incoming dogs. Squeaky must have confirmed placement with a RESCUE PARTNER or ADOPTER by Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 10AM. Should Squeaky's medical or behavioral status change, her urgency and timeline for placement may also change. Meet Squeaky, a 2.5-year-old girl with a big personality, lots of energy, and plenty of love to give! Previously known as Tatianna, this beautiful girl has a sweet, affectionate side and has been known to climb into laps for cuddles and shower her favorite people with kisses. She loves attention, is highly motivated by tasty treats, and already knows several cues, including sit, stay, lay down, and stop. Squeaky enjoys getting outside to explore, and on warm days, she's even been known to enjoy a dip in the pool! Squeaky is a lively, enthusiastic girl who can get overexcited when she's having fun. She can pull on leash and has a history of grabbing and biting the leash when overstimulated, so she'll benefit from an experienced adopter who can help her work through these moments with patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement. She can also be sensitive to certain types of handling, particularly when she feels restrained, and will need someone who respects her boundaries and allows her time to feel comfortable. Food is a great motivator for Squeaky, and high-value treats have helped staff successfully redirect her in challenging situations. Squeaky has had some neutral and appropriate interactions with other dogs, but her comfort around them can vary. Most recently, she has shown significant reactivity toward neighboring dogs in the shelter, even attempting to reach into a neighboring kennel. She will need careful management around other dogs while her social needs are assessed, and slow, thoughtful introductions would be essential if future dog interactions are considered. She was previously described by her owner as friendly with strangers and excited around children, but given her arousal levels and handling sensitivities, a home with adults who can provide structure and supervision would be ideal. Squeaky has been through a lot of change and is looking for someone willing to see the wonderful qualities beneath all that excitement. With an understanding home, appropriate outlets for her energy, and a commitment to helping her build confidence and better coping skills, Squeaky deserves the chance to settle in and show off her loving side. If you're ready for an energetic, treat-loving companion with a whole lot of personality, Squeaky may be the girl for you! Per volunteer 8/9/26: ✨ TATIANA ✨ This beautiful girl is an absolute LOVE BUG 🥹💕 Tatiana couldn't wait to get out of her kennel and enjoy some time outside, and once she was out, all she wanted was love, attention' and maybe a little pepperoni. 😂🌭 She takes treats so gently and quickly figured out that crawling right into my lap and covering me in kisses was a pretty good way to earn some extras. 🥰 She is incredibly affectionate and just wants to be as close to her person as possible.
