Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.' He was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen. He entered the play yard with soft body language. He was approached by two dogs and tolerated them both sniffing him, but he was timid. After the dogs broke away, he began to roam the yard and explore. He was tolerant of dogs trailing him to sniff him. He continued to roam the yard and was more tolerant of the calm dogs. He would create space away from the higher energy dogs or dogs approaching in a faster manner. After some time, he began to grow more in confidence, approaching and exchanging soft greetings with the other dogs. As time passed, he continued to grow in confidence, engaging in gentle/dainty play with the other dogs. He remained playful and social for the rest of his time in the yard, but he preferred lighter contact during play. He would approach the handlers and seek affection. He is social with the other dogs and prefers a gentle/dainty play style. He is a young puppy and would benefit from continued socialization, to continue to grow his confidence with other dogs.
