More Info: I have been at the shelter since Oct 14, 2026. I am in kennel DC26. ID #A2101990 1-year-old female Belgian Malinois mix, tan/black Weight: 40'45 lbs Intake: 10/14/26 Status: Rescue only 💔 Selena's story is heartbreaking. This beautiful young girl was found wandering around an apartment complex, reportedly hit by a car. ⸻ 🩺 Medical Notes: Selena arrived with abrasions on her paw pads and tested low positive for heartworms. She was prescribed carprofen for pain and inflammation for 14 days. A possible vehicle strike was reported, but the provided medical records do not confirm injuries from a collision. ⸻ 🐾Behavior Notes: Selena is understandably frightened. She has been observed trembling with tension, retreating into kennel corners, and struggling when first leashed. She initially thrashed against the leash and has growled when uncomfortable, but gentle reassurance helped her settle. Once calmer, she walked beautifully on a loose leash to the potty yard and returned to her kennel without difficulty.
